West Suffolk Hospital temporarily closed it’s A&E last week

West Suffolk Hospital temporarily closed it’s A&E to ambulances amid winter pressures it has been revealed

On the 9th of January the hospital in Bury St Edmunds was the only trust in England to divert it’s ambulances to other hospitals in the area.

Helen Beck chief operating officer the decision was made to ensure “ensure patients are safe and get the best possible care” adding that the “don’t take these lightly, and diverts are rare occurrences”
