Two people airlifted to hospital following serious A143 road traffic collision

Two people were airlifted to Hospital following a collision on the A143 yesterday  

The collision that took place in on the A143 close to the junction of the A1088 at around 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 22 July) when a white Ford transit van travelling northbound on the A143 collided with a grey VW Tiguan. 

The two women in the VW Tiguan sustained internal injuries and were airlifted to Addenbrooke’s hospital for treatment where they remain. The road was closed in to the evening whilst officers conducted investigations. The male driver of the van was unhurt. 

Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage of the vehicles, is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Serious Collison Investigation Team on 101
