Man in his 60’s assaulted in Bury St Edmunds

Officers are appealing for witnesses or information after a man was assaulted in Bury St Edmunds.
 

The incident took place on Friday 28 December at around 7.45pm in Trevethan Close near to Oakes Road. A man in his 60s walking towards town was approached by a teenage boy who then made an offensive gesture towards the victim, causing him to stop. Three other teenage boys then came from behind the victim and pushed him to the floor and punched him in the face before running off.
 

The victim sustained a black eye and cuts to his face and knee.
 

The first boy is described as white, 14-15 years of age and was wearing black clothing.
