Police have charged a man from Bardwell with burglary and assault.

It follows an incident that took place on Sunday 2 December 2018 where a man entered a store on the high street in Ixworth. Whilst staff were distracted with a customer he went into stock room and an office and stole purses which contained money and bank cards. Whilst leaving the store he was challenged by a female member of staff and pushed her over causing her visible injuries to two fingers.

Following enquires 25 year old Laurence Betts of Lammas Close in Bardwell was charged on 19 January with burglary and assault. He was released on bail bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on 18 February 2019.
