Hospital staff swap their work wear for running gear

Two members of staff at the West Suffolk Hospital swapped their normal daytime wear and donned their running shoes to help raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.

Paula Olsen and Ruth Whymark, who both work in the paediatric diabetes department, took part in one of the 10k “hoohaah” races held in Thetford Forest raising £443.75 to help fund events for their patients.

The money will also go to their support group who hold regular events across West Suffolk for the young people.

They deal with children and teenagers aged from six months to 19-year-olds and decided to take part in the race to help boost the funds.

They have now handed over a cheque from their efforts to the My WiSH team which supports the hospital.
