Sharon Holton, representing the England over 55’s, came back with a Gold Medal having played a big part in her team winning every game in the nine-team tournament leading up to the final. The final, versus Australia, was drawn but the England team emerged victorious from the penalty shuffle shoot out with Sharon lifting the ball over the advancing keeper to secure the gold medal.

In the sixteen-team over 50’s competition, Juliet Konrath and Katie Bedford contributed to three wins and a draw prior to the semi-final, where England were narrowly beaten by Australia. This disappointment was put aside as they came back to defeat Scotland in the Bronze Medal match.
