A teenager from Bury St Edmunds allegedly left a murder scene in a taxi a court has heard

Ipswich Crown Court heard how the 17 year old from the town, who cannot be named for legal reasons, ordered a taxi from his phone at 2pm on the 16th of December 16 last year – 13 minutes after a man believed to be him was captured on CCTV running from the scene of the stabbing near Turin Street, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

The teenager is accused of murdering 32 year old Daniel Saunders who was stabbed in an  alleyway in Ipswich in December last year.

He is on trial with five others, who all deny assisting an offender by disposing of his clothing and harbouring him at a caravan park.

The jury has seen CCTV footage of Mr Saunders visiting a Co-op store in Austin Street and his alleged killer visiting a Premier Store in Wherstead Road minutes before the alleged stabbing.
